Today, students looked at the text, “The Liberty Medal Acceptance Speech” and looked for signal words that helped tell you how the civil rights cases described in Thurgood Marshall’s speech affected the outcomes of the lawsuits that followed.
Students also had time for silent reading and to work on their small group assignments for the week.
This week we welcomed Thea Bibuka who will be working with small groups in reading class for semester one, and will be working with math classes for the second half of the year. Due to this transition time, we will be not be having small groups this week with me and will resume next week. Some small groups may still work with me during independent work time.
Students also learned about our fun run fundraiser today! To find more information, please visit http://www.funrun.com.
Have a wonderful evening!
