Learning Targets: I can comprehend what I read.
In honor of the read-a-thon, today we celebrated Dress Like a Literary Character Day! After giving some clues about my trusty companion, Sherlock Holmes… a couple students in each class guessed my true identity: Watson! Today students explored The Speckled Band, which is a Sherlock Holmes mystery. We are half way through, and there are many guesses for what could have killed poor Helen’s sister. We will have to wait until next week to find out what caused her dreadful fate!
Students also turned in the final drafts of their poems inspired by Locomotion.
Groups 1 and 2 continued to read The Golden Cadillac and answer comprehension questions as they read. Groups 3 and 4 read chapters 3,4,and 5 in Island of the Blue Dolphins. They will have to respond to questions after they have finished nine chapters.
Have a wonderful weekend!
