Students began the day by identifying the main idea after they read a short passage.
Students then worked on their persuasive writing by talking about how informative writing was different than persuasive writing. Students were asked to persuade me to think that their favorite food is the greatest and why.
Next students were given their presentation guidelines for their service learning projects, along with their grading rubric.
We reviewed the guidelines and looked at a couple examples of service learning presentations from last year. Students completed the grading rubric for the presentation they were watching. We looked at examples of artifacts and what would work for their presentation.
Finally, students began (and most completed) their quiz from chapter four for Social Studies. They could use their books and their notes for the quiz. Some students will be bringing this home for homework. If they forgot the assignment, you can download it at the bottom of the page.
